To implement and carry out the laws regulating the bail bond business as passed by the Texas legislature and applied by the courts and to encourage professionalism in the local bond industry. The Board regulates all phases of the Bonding Business and enforces the licensing and regulation of Bail Bondsmen

Bail Bond Board Responsibilities

Pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 1704, Texas Occupation Code, the Tom Green County Bail Bond Board is responsible for:

  • Supervising and regulating each phase of the bonding business in Tom Green County;
  • Depositing fees collected through the bonding business in the general fund of Tom Green County;
  • Adopting and posting rules necessary to implement the Bail Bond Board’s powers and duties;
  • Conducting hearings and investigations and making determinations relating to the issuance, denial or renewal of licenses;
  • Issuing licenses to qualified applicants and denying licenses to unqualified applicants;
  • Employing persons necessary to assist in board functions;
  • Conducting board business, including maintaining records and minutes.

Tom Green County Bail Bond Board
Established February 24, 2011 pursuant to Occupations Code Title 10 Chapter 1704 section 1704.051 Mandatory Creation of Board. A board is created in each county with a population of 110,000 or more.
